Crown lengthening is a procedure that adjusts the gumline—sometimes along with the underlying bone—to expose more of the natural tooth. It’s commonly recommended when a tooth is broken below the gumline, when there isn’t enough tooth structure for a secure crown, or when patients want to improve the look of a “gummy” smile.
At G's Dental Studio, we provide crown lengthening in Cedar Park, TX with careful planning and clear guidance so you know what to expect before, during, and after treatment.
Our office is conveniently located at 12920 W Parmer Ln STE 101 in Cedar Park, making it easy to access care from Leander, Brushy Creek, Avery Ranch, Lakeline, Anderson Mill, Jollyville, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Northwest Austin.
Crown lengthening is a dental procedure that exposes more of a tooth by gently reshaping:
This creates the space needed to restore the tooth properly and helps ensure restorations (like crowns) fit and function predictably.
Crown lengthening is typically performed for restorative reasons, cosmetic reasons, or both.
You may need crown lengthening if:
By exposing more tooth structure, crown lengthening can help your dentist place a crown or restoration with a better fit and seal—reducing future leakage or fracture risk.
Some patients have teeth that look short because the gumline covers more of the tooth than expected. Cosmetic crown lengthening can help:
We evaluate your gumline, tooth structure, and your restoration goals. If crown lengthening is for restorative reasons, we coordinate with the plan for the crown or filling.
The gum tissue is adjusted to expose the needed tooth structure. In some cases, a small amount of bone may be reshaped to create stable, healthy spacing for the restoration.
After the procedure, healing time is important—especially when crown lengthening supports a new crown. We’ll give you clear guidance on timeline and what happens next in your treatment plan.
Most patients experience mild tenderness and swelling for a short period. Aftercare typically includes:
Healing time can vary depending on how much tissue was adjusted and whether the procedure is restorative or cosmetic. We’ll outline what to expect for your specific case.
These terms can sound similar, but they’re not always the same:
Your exam will determine which approach fits your goals.
We focus on creating the space needed for restorations to fit well and last.
You’ll know why the procedure is recommended, what the healing timeline looks like, and how it supports your final result.
We accept most major PPO and HMO plans. If crown lengthening is medically necessary for a restoration, insurance may apply. We also offer financing options for qualifying patients.

I had an amazing experience at G’s Dental Studio! I came in for three cavities and a crown replacement, and Dr. Jain and the hygienist were so compassionate and gentle throughout the whole process. They kept checking in to make sure I was comfortable the entire time. The team was very accommodating, and I didn’t feel any pain at all! I truly appreciate how caring and professional everyone was. Highly recommend G’s Dental Studio to anyone looking for a dentist who genuinely cares about their patients!
I needed my crown glued back on. This office was very well run. I got an xray and some new glue and paid a fair price to talented, friendly people. An unusual experience now days to find a place FULL of people who seem glad to be at work!
This is the best dentist out there. They do most of their work in house and if you need a crown. They make it onsite and you dont have to wear the temporary crown. I feel comfortable and cared for in their office.
